Gary Peterson is the 4th generation farmer at Four Cubs Farm which has been in his family since 1877 when it was homesteaded by his great-grandmother. Gary spends much of his time repairing equipment, machinery and buildings. He has been instrumental in the food truck preparations and repairs!

Cris Peterson has been farming at Four Cubs Farm since marrying Gary in 1973. She is in charge of financial records, payroll and personnel management as well as being responsible for farm public relations and tours. Cris also manages the financials for Brickfield Market.

Gary and Cris enjoy spending time with their 8 grandchildren, 3 children and many friends. They spend their summers in their happy place – a cabin on Big Wood Lake just 6 miles from the farm.

Ben & Nicki Peterson
Ben & Nicki Peterson
Ben Peterson is Gary and Cris’ son and co-owner of Four Cubs Farm. He is in charge of the daily operations, agronomy, maintenance, animal nutrition, construction and planning. Ben oversees all aspects of Brickfield Market specializing in pricing, forecasting, operations and logistics.

Nicki Peterson owns Spry Content, a marketing agency specializing in the food & beverage industry. Her focus is social media marketing, food photography, recipe video development and website development. She oversees social media for the farm and the marketing for Brickfield Market.

Ben and Nicki also own Brickfield Brewing in downtown Grantsburg. The idea of the brewery came from their work in the local revitalization organization as a way to bring people to Grantsburg. They have enjoyed tying the family farm into the brewery by growing barley to be custom malted for grains in beer production and then feeding those spent grains back to our cattle at Four Cubs Farm.

Ben and Nicki live near the farm with their two children.

Caroline Snodgrass is the youngest of Gary and Cris’ three children. She works for Four Cubs Farm remotely and is in charge of retrieving data from the tractors’ GPS systems, entering data into field planning software as well as assisting Nathan with feed usage & feed inventory data.

With Brickfield Market, Caroline has taken a key role in everything food truck related from licensing to equipment to recipe development and more!

Caroline and her husband Ed and three children live in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Nathan Brandt
Nathan Brandt is the Herd Manager at Four Cubs Farm. He is in charge of cow health, nutrition, reproduction and genetics. He manages a team of employees and 16 robotic milking machines:)

Nathan has worked for Four Cubs Farm since 2014 and is excited to be an owner/partner in Brickfield Market where he oversees the beef cattle genetics, nutrition, processing schedules, inventory and more!

Nathan and his wife Beth live between Grantsburg and St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin with their daughter — and a baby boy due this summer!
